NZIQS & NZIOB to share new offices in Wellington
posted on September 14, 2015 11:53
The NZIOB and the NZIQS are pleased to announce that the two Institutes have agreed to share office space and have taken the lease of half a floor at 108 The Terrace, Wellington. The building has a good construction pedigree, having initially been constructed for the Cable Price Downer Group.
The tenancy will be completely upgraded and will feature a shared Board-room and Lunch-room. The space is light and bright with opening windows on three sides (which ticks the box for providing its inhabitants with a healthy environment). The QSs amongst you will be pleased to hear that the fit-out costs are being borne by the Landlord.
Along with the hosting of scheduled Wellington Council meetings for both Institutes and some potential for localised Board usage, it is hoped that the respective memberships will see this new CBD space as Home, with drop-ins welcomed.
The NZIOB and NZIQS have historically been great institutional mates and now we are room-mates. The sharing of space provides both institute's with cost savings, the ability to incorporate benefits that they wouldn't be able to achieve on their own (Board-room and Lunch-room), and the added dynamic that comes with doubling the number of people in a space.
The NZIOB and NZIQS will be moving into 8/108 The Terrace in late October, with updated contact details to be provided closer to the time. And yes, there will be a joint office opening function.
