COVID-19 may be affecting the provision of monthly construction finance reports to project Funders. NZIQS has issued this Guidance Note about Construction Financing Reports Site Inspections during the COVID-19 Pandemic as a supplement to the NZIQS Guidance Note-Construction Financing Reports (October 2019).
 
The Guidance Note covers what information a risk commentary should include about COVID-19 and its impact on the project.

NZIQS Construction Financing Reports - Guidance Note (October 2019)

The purpose of this Guidance Note is to create a uniform scope of service and clarify the quantity surveyor's role in providing construction cost management services to both the Financier(s) and developer.

This Guidance Note does not purport to be a comprehensive description of the law, and members should obtain independent legal advice.

Guidance Notes are intended to embody recognised 'good practice' and therefore may provide some professional support if properly applied. While they are not mandatory, it is likely that they will serve as a comparative measure of the level of performance of a member.

The preparation and delivery of reports to financial institutions, acting as the Financier's representative, should be undertaken by a Registered Quantity Surveyor member of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NZIQS). Any employees undertaking this service must be supervised by a suitably experienced Registered Quantity Surveyor member.
