Valuing Healthy Low Carbon Homes

Delivering healthy, comfortable, low-carbon homes can be done efficiently and cost effectively. The NZGBC has released a practical guide to help designers get the fundamentals right. Optimising a building layout and including important features early in the design process are key to ensuring maximum value at minimum cost. 
During this session, we’ll highlight the important role that Quantity Surveyors play in achieving a great outcome for clients and providing valuable carbon data for developers and lenders. 

Speaker - Matthew Cutler-Welsh

Matthew’s mission is to inspire people to make a better place to live. He is currently the Senior Manager - Residential at the New Zealand Green Building Council, focusing on Aotearoa’s environmental rating tools for homes. 

Matthew has an Honours Degree in Natural Resources Engineering and has over 15 years of experience leading residential energy efficiency projects in New Zealand and Australia. In 2016 he joined the Board of the Passive House Institute New Zealand.

Prior to training as an engineer, Matthew was an Outward Bound instructor in New Zealand and the US.
