Artificial Intelligence (AI), Dispute Resolution (DR), and the Quantity Surveyor (QS) – friends or foes?

It has been speculated that the rapid advent of AI will lead to many of the current jobs being displaced. This includes those doing routine tasks done by some QSs and even those doing routine computer coding. Is this mere speculation, a current reality, or likely future outcome?

Among the QSs roles includes advisory services relating to construction law, construction contracts and administration, and involvement in dispute resolution in various roles.

Naseem uses AI tools, primarily Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformers, (commonly known as ChatGPT) in the areas of construction law, construction contracts, and dispute resolution and puts these speculations to test. He puts AI to the test against real persons (QSs).

He concludes his findings based on empirical evidence. He also makes recommendations on what QSs can do to be better prepared for the future in the light of rapid advancement of AI.
