Regulations for marketing as a "Registered Quantity Surveyor"

The logo and post nominal term

• The use of the Registration logo and the words 'Registered Quantity Surveyor' shall be confined to use by individuals, and shall not be used by partnerships or companies ie two Registered Quantity Surveyors in practice together cannot use the term Registered Quantity Surveyors to describe their practice.
  
  
• The Registration logo and the words 'Registered Quantity Surveyor' shall not be used as part of a practice name or feature prominently on a practice letterhead, whether it is related to a sole Registered Quantity Surveyor or a group of Registered Quantity Surveyors.
  
  
• For inclusion on letterhead and business cards the Registration logo and words 'Registered Quantity Surveyor' may be used only in conjunction with the name of the Registered Quantity Surveyor in a suitably subdued location on the practice letterhead or business cards, and in a manner that will not represent the practice as being Registered.
  
  
• The abbreviation Reg. QS (Capital letter 'R', fullstop after Reg., space before Capital 'QS') may be used as an alternative to the preferred full term on a business card or on correspondence, immediately following the member's name.
  

Yellow Page advertising

On request 'Yellow Pages' will list members who are Registered Quantity Surveyors in a separate section following the 'Quantity Surveyor' section of the phone book. Rules for the format follow; which are designed to ensure that the title belongs to an individual member and not the listed firm.

• Only the member/s name/s can be listed in bold type
  
  
• The name of the company/firm must be preceded by 'c/-' on a new line following the individual/s name/s.
