Mentoring

The NZIQS mentoring programme is designed to provide tertiary QS students with links to experienced NZIQS members so that students can relate their studies to QS roles and practices. Additionally it allows NZIQS members to remain aware of the topics and issues covered in the QS tertiary course programmes.

There are three course deliverers with existing NZIQS Mentoring agreements:

Unitec Auckland - signed 21 July 2005 CPIT, Christchurch – signed 7 June 2006 Massey University Albany campus – signed 21 July 2009

NZIQS hopes to progress other agreements with Weltec (Wellington Institute of Technology), Wintec, Hamilton and Bay of Plenty Polytechnic in due course. In Otago the branch has well established informal arrangements in place for the benefit of TekOtago students.

The Mentoring Guidelines are available from the National office.  If any qualified members wishes to be a mentor, please contact your branch chairman. The Mentors are nominated by Branch Boards and approved by Council.  CPD accreditation hours are approved for an element of the NZIQS CPD programme for NZIQS-approved mentors.
