Site visit to Central Energy Trust Widlbase Recovery followed by networking event

Description

This project sees Palmerston North make a huge contribution to the conservation and protection of native birds. Located in Victoria Esplanade the centre will house permanent breeding, surgery and rehabilitation facilities for NZ's most endangered species. Visitors will be able to watch vets from Massey University in action caring for injured and ill birds.

The project is due to be completed in April 2017.

The site visit will include a presentation from Scott Bruce, the man who first had the idea to open the centre and who has worked tirelessly to secure the funding. Scott will be joined by Aaron Phillips, Senior Property and Parks Planner for Palmerston North City Council. We also hope to have a vet from Massey university to speak on how the centre will be used.

The site visit will be followed by social drinks at Brew Union, 39-41 Broadway Avenue, Palmerston North. Marilyn Moffatt, NZIQS Executive Director, will be attending the event and looks forward to catching up with our Manawatu members.
