Who We Are

The New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NZIQS) is the professional organisation in New Zealand for Quantity Surveyors, Estimators, Cost Managers and Cost Consultants in the construction industry. We have around 6,000 members.

Our members work in many different situations, such as part of a specialist quantity surveying practice, or for a contractor, construction company, subcontractor, or builder. Others work within organisations such as banks, government departments, and developers.

Students who are studying quantity surveying also belong to the institute. Membership is free when you are studying full time.

The institute is based in Wellington and is run by a Board, supported by staff. We have branches in Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago, along with international members.
